An update
I just received word that the surgery wasn't a success. They weren't able to remove the tumor - it's just too tied up with everything else. I really wanted to have this post be sunny and positive, but I'm not sure what else to write here. I think my Dad said it best when I spoke with him, that it's not the end of the road.

it surely isn't the end of the road. your mom is an incredible woman with so much determination and spunk there is much good ahead for her. we love you all so much and continue to pray for all of you during this time.

Life is weird though and medicine isn't the answer to everything. Sounds like your mom has the other bases covered.
